The "good weather capital"

Bildo Guesthouse is located in Bildudalur. A local rumor says that the fjord was originally named "Blíðudalur" which roughly translates to "the Sunny Valley". Somewhere in the past the letters of the name got mixed up and now it‘s called Bildudalur.

Ideal for resting

Bildo Guesthouse is ideal for unwinding after a day of traveling as both the village and the guesthouse are small and quiet. There are only two streets in the village and the guesthouse is in the main one.

Newly renovated

The house is newly renovated but full of history nonetheless. Items and furniture from three Icelandic generations blend together to form a mixture of modern, 60‘s and antique style.

Comfortable and clean

In Bildo Guesthouse we strive to keep the house clean and our guests happy. We take pride in both our house and in the Westfjords as a wonderful area to visit and explore.

Warmest welcome to Bildo Guesthouse!

Warmest welcome to our four rooms guesthouse in Bildudalur. It is located in the Westfjords which is one of the areas with the most remarkable wild untouched nature. The small and quiet village holds the reputation as the "good weather capital" of the Westfjords. It is surrounded by mountains that makes it sheltered for wind and warmer than many other places in Iceland. Bildo Guesthouse is therefor ideal for resting comfortably while exploring the wonders of Westfjords. In a five minutes walk away from the house there is a hot tub and sauna where you can start or end you day for further relaxation.
